Back on track......with new shoes

After a week of being sick, I think I am back on track. I had a great 5 mile run today at a great pace, thank goodness. I was able to get in runs last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. By Friday afternoon I was back to feeling awful with major chest congestion, sinus pressure, and general soreness. I had planned early am runs over the weekend but decided I needed the rest instead. Right choice! I feel much better now- I even slept until 8 on Saturday. I cannot remember the last time that happened, but I know it was probably at least 5 years ago!

Now that I am well rested I am gearing up for my first post Meredith half marathon- The National Marathon & Half Marathon. Should be fun. I ran it pregnant last year and thought the race was okay, but they had soft pretzels at the end, so I am doing it again. Need some kind of motivation, right?

I am excited to run, and just want to get out there and enjoy the race! It will be fun to run this course now that I am not pregnant and won't be wondering how long until the next potties- and there were not a ton on this course! I am not going to make any effort to get a pr or even try for a certain time, I just want to love the race!

I am really enjoying my new shoes- I bought New Balance 1063- I love them!

glad you are feeling better. I'm having terrible allergy issues and running is not making it better. Good luck in your race this weekend. You will ROCK it!!!

I love that you rate your races on the availability of soft pretzels and Diet Coke! For soft pretzels, I may just have to run this one next year!
