Charlottesville Bound

Active Image
I am so happy to be leaving tomorrow for Charlottesville. This is my favorite race, and the weather could not be more perfect. My mom, Meredith and I are making the trip (the baby still won't take a bottle- she's 7 months, so we are trying sippy cups). We will be heading down, picking up my packet and having dinner on the pedestrian mall. I will definitely miss my Victory Lakes running mates Leigh and Cynthia this year, but they will both be here in Bristow cuddling thier brand new babies Juel and Emery. Between shopping, dinner, and the surfboard shower in the hotel, we had an awesome trip and an awesome race together!
This course had been ranked by Runners Magazine as one of the top destination marathons in the country- and they are spot on. The race size is perfect, the setting is intimate, and the course is the most beautiful I have run. I am hoping that my experience this year is as great as last year, and I am honestly looking forward to the hills during the race. Let's see if I am actually thinking that as I run the hills, but I love the feeling when you get to the top of those challenging hills and can look back and think 'I did it, and I can do it again- and I will'. Such a great feeling!

Good luck! Love me some C-ville!

Treat yourself to some Bodo's and maybe even some Arch's while you are at it!
