I am finally really back into the running groove. I am so happy- running is really something I love, and I am beyond thrilled! Everything has been going smoothly. Running with three is a challenge, but between my wonderful husband, a fantastic babysitter and a loving mom, I have childcare! Whooooo! I even have had friend run and then watch my kids so I can run.
A few things have changed with my running, and I love the variety. First- as I mentioned before, I usually run with friends. While training for the Marine Corps and Disney I never- not once- ran alone!! Due to timing/ childcare I have run alone a few times, and I actually ran. I was so afraid that I would be tying my shoes or fixing my hair every 50 feet. The first time I did, but since then I have done fine. I still prefer to run with friends! Second- I have been running during the day. I was always a 5 or 6 am runner. Never thought I would do the days, but I am loving it. We even got in an amazing run in the snow, so much fun! The last big change- I ran with an iPod for the first time. It took a little getting used to, for the first few songs I felt like I should start dancing. After a few miles I was fine, and enjoyed listening to adult music.
I am still on the hunt for a triathalon bike- very excited to get that. Once I am done with my two half marathons this spring I plan on getting more into my Iron Girl training. I look forward to getting my plan together and will be sharing what I find.
Gotta run........

Mom on the run......
I finally am back in the routine- and it feels so great! The early am runs are not practical right now, so I have mixed up the routine. It has been almost 5 years since I ran anything besides the early am, save two races I did. It has been a lot of fun, and with a baby it has been necessary. We have had a few cold runs, and today's run was amazing. It was in the 50's and sunny. I came home after 6 miles with a great runner's high that has just kept me energized all day! I am excited to have found a sitter and am going to be able to get in 4 runs before I leave for Pittsburgh this week. I am so excited- I have been building my mileage slowly and feel great so far. A great run really makes me feel like I could conquer the world, and all of the amazing running partners I have had since we moved here have made every run fun! Last week my friend Erica and I ran 4 miles in the fresh snow. It was beautiful. The schools were closed and the roads were empty. The route was beautiful, really made me appreciate the day in a way I would not have otherwise after shoveling for hours! Amazing that I have had a memorable snowy run and a warm sunny day run less than 6 days apart! Got to love the VA weather!
As for races- now I am feeling like I can get back into gear. The big news is that I am doing the Goofy Challenge again with my friend Lee- it will be so amazing to do those races again- with company. So excited! I am feeling good about the half marathons I am signed up for this spring. I doubt I'll be breaking any personal records, but I will be enjoying every minute of it! Now I need to buy a new bike for IronGirl- I can't wait for that challenge!
